Mushfiqur Rahim reached his career-best position in the ICC Men's Test Batting Rankings after a brilliant performance against Pakistan last week, as confirmed by an ICC media release on Wednesday.

Mushfiq's match-winning 191 in the first Test of the World Test Championship (WTC) series against Pakistan in Rawalpindi helped him advance seven places to a career-best 17th position with 684 rating points.

Additionally, Liton Das moved up two places to 27th after his 56-run innings in the first innings of the game, while Mominul Haque dropped two spots despite his 50-run knock. Shakib Al Hasan also lost two spots, falling to 43rd after failing to contribute significantly with the bat.

Among the bowlers, seamer Shoriful Islam gained nine spots to reach the 64th position, having claimed two wickets in both the first and second innings.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz, after his four-wicket haul, moved up to the 23rd position from 24th, while Hasan Mahmud jumped 23 places to 74th spot.

Miraz also entered the top ten of the all-rounder rankings, thanks to his 77-run knock alongside his bowling brilliance.

Howver, Joe Root of England, Ravichandran Ashwin of India and his compatriot Ravindra Jadeja remained at the top of the updated Test batting, bowling, and all-rounder rankings, respectively.
