Man killed in Barishal road crash

A man was killed and six others were injured in a road collision at Mehendiganj upazila in Barishal district on Friday.

The accident occurred around 11 AM on Friday at Patarhaat Steemarghat area of the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Hasan Hawlader of Charmitua village under Alimabad union of the upazila.

Mehendiganj Police Station officer-in-charge (investigation) Md Helal Uddin confirmed the matter.

The accident occurred when a speeding three-wheeler (nosimon) and a battery-operated easybike collided head-on in the area, leaving Helal dead on the spot and six other passengers critically injured, he said.

Police have arrested the three wheeler driver Md Ripon, and processing to file a case in this regard was underway, added the OC.
