Two students drown in Kishoreganj

Two madrasah students drowned in a ditch at Pakundia upazila in Kishoreganj district on Friday.

The incident took place in the afternoon at Chartertekia village in the upazila.
The deceased two were Abdullah, 9, son of Asad Mia, a resident of the village and Tamheed, 10, son of Uzzal Mia, a resident of Charkawna Madhyapara area in the upazila. They both were students of a local madrasah.

According to locals, the duo along with another went to the ditch to bathe after playing football match in the afternoon. At one stage, they drowned in the water-body as they didn't know how to swim. Seeing them drowning, their associates screamed for help.

Locals rushed there to help, rescued them and took to Pakundia Upazila Health Complex where the physicians declared them dead.

Charfaradi Union Parishad Chairman Abdul Mannan confirmed the deaths.
