Police recovered the hanging body of a woman from her home at Faridganj upazila in Chandpur district on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Reshma Aktar Soma, 27, wife of Qatar expatriate Razon, a resident of Gabdargau area under Rupshanorth union in the upazila.
Local UP member Yunus Patwary said that Reshma's husband returned home from Qatar two months ago. Since then, they had been quarreling over various family matters.
On Friday night, Family members from both sides held a meeting to settle disputes and reconcile husband and wife.
Later, Reshma went to sleep in one room while while her husband slept in another.
The following morning, family members found her body hanging from the ceiling fan in her room when they went to call her.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Chandpur Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, said Md Hanif, officer-in-charge of Faridganj Police Station.
