Two children drown in Kishoreganj

Two children drowned while bathing in a canal at Mithamoin upazila in Kishoreganj district on Monday afternoon.

The incident took place at Sahebnagar Purbapara area under Katkhal union of the upazila.
The deceased were Tasmia Ahmed Nishat, 5, daughter of Jubayer Ahmed from Sahebnagar village, and Rafia Tanha, 4, daughter of Mohibur Rahman, from the same village.

According to locals, the duo was playing with other children in the morning. After a while they went to the canal to bathe and drowned there.

Seeing their bodies floating, locals rushed there and recovered these.

Mithamoin Police Station officer-in-charge Mohammad Ahsan Habib confirmed the matter, adding that legal actions will be taken if the family members file a complaint in this regard.
