Janata Bank holds workshop on AML, CFT compliance

A day-long workshop was held at Janata Bank Staff College on Saturday, 31 August 2024, to raise awareness among all General Managers of Janata Bank PLC regarding compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) regulations.
The workshop featured the bank's Managing Director, Md Abdul Jabbar, as the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker, says a press release.
Among the speakers were two Joint Directors from the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), Janata Bank PLC's Chief Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer (CAMLCO), and the Deputy Chief Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer (DCAMLCO).
The workshop focused on AML and CFT prevention, trade-based money laundering prevention, and sharing field-level experiences regarding financial irregularities that occurred in the past. Discussions also centered on the steps that could be taken to address these irregularities and emphasised the importance of staying vigilant in the future.
