President Mohammed Shahabuddin, Chief Adviser Prof Dr Muhammad Yunus and Youth and Sports Affairs Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan extended heartiest congratulations to Bangladesh national cricket team for the historic Test series win against Pakistan.

In a congratulatory message, the President greeted the players, coaches and staff of the national cricket team for the victory.

Chief Adviser on the other hand, called up National Cricket Team Captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto to congratulate him on his historic Test series win over Pakistan.

"Heartiest congratulations from the government and me. The whole nation is proud of you," said the Chief Adviser. Dr Yunus also added that the Bangladesh team will be accorded a reception after they return.

Meanwhile, Sports Adviser said, "Bangladesh got a six-wicket glorious and historic victory in the Second Test to complete a 2-0 clean sweep in the two Test series against Pakistan".

He said the country's sports arena is witnessing successes as a result of mass upsurge that had taken place through the Anti-discrimination student movement in July.

"The country will be able to gain more successes in sports if the sports are kept free from politicization and corruption," he added.

They hoped that this winning trend would continue in the country's sports arena in future.
