Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) has recently provided relief assistance to flood-affected areas in Kamalnagar upazila of Lakshmipur district.

An 18-member team, led by NDUB Deputy Registrar Fr. Ashim Theotonius Gonsalves, CSC, and Deputy Exam Controller Fr. Badhon Hilarious Rozario, CSC, on Friday (September 6) distributed aid among a total of 600 families in Bhuiyangram and Aulianagar areas.

The first phase of relief distribution took place on the premises of Bhuiyangram Government Primary School at 3:00 pm, where 300 families received essential supplies. The second phase occurred at 8:00 pm in Aulianagar village, benefiting another 300 families. The relief packages included essential items such as rice, lentils, potatoes, onions, oil, salt, and water.

The relief effort involved active participation from students, alumni, and administrative staff of the university, with the assistance of Caritas Bangladesh, a Catholic charitable organization in Bangladesh.

Funds were raised through spontaneous efforts from students and alumni, with support and sponsorship from the university administration.

This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to social responsibility, offering much-needed aid and relief to people severely affected by the floods in Lakshmipur.

Earlier on August 26, the university also provided relief assistance to a total of 560 families in Sonaimuri upazila of Noakhali district. A team of nine students participated in the distribution activities.
