Bodies of 2 missing children recovered from Jamuna

Police have recovered the bodies of two children who went missing in the Jamuna river at Chauhali in Sirajganj district.

On Thursday (September 12) morning, two dead bodies were recovered from the embankment area of ​​Khaskaulia Jamuna river in the upazila. Earlier, they went missing while bathing in the river on Wednesday afternoon.
The dead were Hazrat Ali, 6, son of Alamgir Hossain of Kurki village under Khaskaulia union of the upazila, and his cousin Khadija Khatun, 5, daughter of Jahangir Hossain of the same area.

Chauhali River Police Outpost Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shamsul Alam confirmed the matter and said that the two children went missing while they were taking bath in the river with their grandfather Abdur Rahim Mollah Wednesday. Their family members searched but could not find them. 

Later, their floating bodies were recovered from Reski Board area of ​​Jotpara Tirraksha Dam on the river Thursday, the OC added.
