Quota movement: Parvez dies fighting for life, sufferings of family mount

Another Quota Reform Movement victim, who suffered bullet injuries on head on August 4, has died after fighting for life over the last 37 days.

The deceased was Parvez Hossain, 22, was the son of Nabi Ullah of village Minnat Haji Bari in Dhanpur village of Chandraganj union parishad under Laxmipur Sadar upazila. He worked at a thai glass shop at Mirpur-10 in the capital.
Parvez died at the intensive care unit (ICU) of National Institute of Neuro Sciences and Hospital early Thursday morning, his uncle Mohin Uddin said.

According to family, Parvez was shot on August 4 in front of Adarsha High School at Mirpur-10 during the quota reform movement. Later, locals rushed him to the National Institute of Neuro Sciences and Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday (September 12).

Locals said Parvez was among his five brothers and sisters. He was the sole breadwinner of his family.

Parvez's mother Fatema Begum said: "My beloved son has left us. We had to meet our family expenses with his earnings. Now what shall I do for my other children and mentally-retarded husband?"

Chandraganj union parishad chairman Nurul Amin said, "We have received the news of Parvez's death. I have sent a member of the local ward to visit his house and enquire about his family members."
