The former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 35 other were sued on charge of killing of journalist Mehedi Hasan while covering anti-discrimination student movement at Jatrabari area on July 18.
Mosharraf Hossain, father of Mehedi Hasan, a reporter of Dhaka Times reporter, filed the complaint with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahin Reza.
The court after recording statement of the complainant, asked Jatrabari Police Station to file the matter as first information report (FIR).
The other accused in the case include - former road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former law minister Anisul Huq, Rashed Khan Menon, Hasanul Huq Inu, Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, Habibur Rahman, Harun-Ur Rashid and Biplab Kumar Sarker.
According to the complainant, Mehedi was shot and killed near Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover at Kazla of Jatrabari on July 18 evening. He was covering the anti-discrimination student movement in the area.
