Bumper yield of advance vegetables at Dumuria

DUMURIA, KHULNA, Sept 15: Advance vegetables have been cultivated commercially in Dumuria Upazila of the district.
At present, there are wide fields of brightly growing vegetable fields in the upazila. The yielding has been bumper.

In the advance vegetable cultivation in 14 unions of Dumuria, new technology was applied.  
Safe and disease-free vegetables are being exported to foreign countries from Dumuria. Growers are happy to earn foreign currencies. Growers are also happy to get fair local prices.

This year's advance vegetable farming was favoured by fair weather.  

Now, growers are passing busy time in taking care of their vegetable farms of bottle gourd, bean, bitter gourd, cucumber, red spinach, green chilli and others. 

They start their rearing works including weeding and spraying in the morning.

By farming the advance vegetables ,many are becoming solvent.  

 Bangabandhu Medal winning grower of Khornia Abu Hanif Morol said, the advance vegetables have yielded  good. 

"We are getting good prices of bean, cucumber and red spinach," he added.

Grower Kamal Bawali of Molmolia area of Shovna said, "Vegetables yielded bumper. I cultivated bean, bitter gourd and cucumber on six bighas of fish enclosures. I got good prices. Now vegetables are exported from Dumuria."

Grower Tapos of Boratiar area at No. 5 Atlia Union in the upazila said, "Growers were trained up and given advice by the agriculture office. Our poison-free vegetables are going to foreign countries. It is good news for us."

Dumuria Upazila Agriculture Officer Md Insad Ibne Amin confirmed bumper yielding of the advance vegetables. 

Getting profitable prices growers have started to smile, he added. He further said, thousands of growers are becoming solvent by farming advance vegetables.

"Our vegetables are exported to Italy, England, and Korea," he said.

Vegetables worth crores of taka have been cultivated at Dumuria, he added.
