10 accused sentenced jail terms in question leak case

A Dhaka court on Sunday sentenced 10 people to different jail terms and acquitted 114 others in a case filed at Shahbagh police station on  question paper leak. 

Seven of the convicts were sentenced to 4 years imprisonment and three to 2 years in jail.

Dhaka Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Hasibul Haque delivered the verdict.

On October 20, 2017, CID raided two residential halls of Dhaka University and arrested two students named Mamun and Rana. Based on the information given by them, a student named Rafi was arrested from the examination hall on the next day. On that day, the CID filed a case under Section 63 of the Information and Communication Technology Act- 2006 and Section 9(b) of the Public Examination Act of 1980 with Shahbag police station.
