1,400 RMG factories active in Ashulia even on holiday

Production at some 1,400 readymade garment factories at Ashulia in Savar were going on Monday, though the day was a public holiday for Eid-e-Miladunnabi.

Following the workers' protest, the production was hampered at those factories over the last few days.

On Monday, the workers worked peacefully, it was learnt.

The factory authorities said that they took the decision of keeping  the factories open on holiday to deal with the losses incurred in the wake of labor unrest.
The employees said the work environment in he name of movement has been spoiled for a long time. "We joined the work as situation became normal."

In the face of workers' unrest, the authorities bound to shut the factories in the Ashulia industrial area.
