The bearing pad that was displaced, halting metro rail services on the Agargaon-Motijheel section since Wednesday morning, was successfully reinstalled around 6:50pm on Wednesday.

Workers and engineers of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL) will now conduct extensive tests to ensure the system's safety, an official of DMTCL said.

When asked if the metro rail will run on the section today (Wednesday), he said that tests are still in progress. Further updates are expected once tests are completed. Metro rail services on the Agargaon-Motijheel route were suspended at 9:40am.

Metro rail operations on the Agargaon-Motijheel section was suspended after 9:40am on Wednesday (September 18) due to some technical problems.

DMTCL Director Nasir Uddin Ahmed said, "There is a big problem on that route. It will take time to fix. For now, the train operation continues on Agargaon-Uttara route."

Commuters, mostly office-goers, were seen waiting for public transport on the road in front of Agargaon Station to reach their destinations.

The Agargaon to Motijheel section of the metro rail halted service after 9:00am due to the displacement of a spring in the middle lane of three that runs along the viaduct under the trains at Farmgate station.

It will be informed if the train movement on Agargaon-Motijheel section is normal, the DMTCL said in a post on their official Facebook page.
