3 houses gutted in Kurigram fire

Three houses were completely gutted in a fire that brok out from an electric short circuit at Ulipur upazila in Kurigram district on Wednesday night. 

The incident occurred at Patilapur village under Daldalia union in the upazila. 

It was learnt that the fire originated from a cow shed due to an electrical short circuit and engulfed the adjacent houses. 

A unit from the Ulipur Fire Service rushed to the scene and brought the fire under control after one hour of efforts with the help of locals. 

The affected families claimed that their losses caused by the fire to be around Tk five lakh, 

Abdul Razzak Mondal, station officer of Ulipur Fire Service, said that the fire might have originated from an electric short circuit. 

The total amount of losses due to the fire will be known after an investigation, the official added.
