Man electrocuted in Sherpur

A man died from electrocution at Nalitabari upazila in Sherpur district on Saturday morning.  

The incident happened at around 8:45am at West Nissiantapur village under Nanni union in the upazila. 

The deceased was identified as Sahin Miah, 38, son of late Atar Ali, a resident of the area. 

It was learnt that Sahin Miah came in contact with a live electric wire while he was connecting an electric wire to run an electric motor, leaving him critically injured. 

Family members rescued him and took him to Serpur District Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead. 

Monirul Islam Bhuiyan, officer-in-charge of Nalitabari Police Station, said police have been sent to the spot after getting information. 

An unnatural death case has been filed in this regard, the OC added.
