Mushfiqur Rahim has now become Bangladesh's highest run-scorer in international cricket, surpassing Tamim Iqbal, during the second innings of first Test match against India at M. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai by scoring 13 runs.

Earlier the match, Mushfiqur needed just 9 runs to surpass Tamim's total of 15,192 international runs. After scoring 8 runs in the first innings, he equaled Tamim's record, and with his first run in the second innings, Mushfiqur took the lead with a total of 15,205 runs across formats.
Although his innings was cut short by Ravichandran Ashwin, Mushfiqur's overall tally now stands at 5,913 runs in 91 Tests, 7,792 runs in 271 ODIs, and 1,500 runs in 102 T20Is. He is the only Bangladeshi cricketer, alongside Tamim Iqbal, to surpass 15,000 international runs. 

Following Mushfiqur and Tamim, Shakib Al Hasan ranks third with 14,696 runs, while Mahmudullah Riyad holds fourth place with 10,694 runs. Litton Das, who has played 244 matches, sits in fifth place with 7,183 runs.
