Don't take law into your own hands, Tarique urges people

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman said on Saturday taking the law into hand will not help us to achieve the goal of those who sacrificed life to free the country from fascist government. Law must be allowed to run according to its flow."

Speaking at the Enayetpur High School Playground at Sirajganj he said, "Our meeting is organized to pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives to free the country from fascist government."

"Thousands of them lost their lives, eyes and became crippled for the country's future," said Tarique.

He said, "The sacrifice of these people to free the country from autocratic government will be successful only when we can unitedly establish a people's government." "To change the fate of the people of the country, 31 points have been presented by BNP and other like-minded political parties," he said.

Tarique said, "We have to ensure the political and economic freedom of the people of our country."

Tarique Rahman said, Bangladesh is the most promising country. Now we need effective leadership.

He highlighted the loom industry and agricultural product like mustered oil and nuts of Shirajganj.  Tarique emphasized on exporting loom products, mustered oil and nuts to the international market. The aim and objective of BNP is to stand by the people said Tarique. 

He stresses on exporting manpower to foreign countries as well as to industrialization within the country.

Tarique said that, movement of BNP will continue until the people's right to vote is not established.

"Do not take the law into your hands. The law must be allowed to run its course, he said. 

BNP Senior Joint Secretar Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, Tarique Rahman was the main architect of the July Revolution'.

He said thay fascist government has fallen in the student-people movement. The students and young people of the country put their lives at risk and freed the country from the dictatorship.

He said that Tarique Rahman proved that his boycotting the January 7 election was the correct decision of BNP. 

Due to the one-sided election of the government, Awami League lost its acceptability in the country and abroad. Recently, the Indian media also said that not being able to bring BNP to the elections was the biggest mistake of the Awami League government.

Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku is a member of the party's Standing Committee presided virtually as the chief guest at the meeting. 

District BNP president Romana Mahmud was present as a special guest.

The meeting was held to remember of those killed in the student movement to overthrow the Awami League government.
 
Rizvi said followers of fascism are engaged in a conspiracy to destroy through counter-revolution. If those murderers are not brought to justice today, then the martyrs' soul will not rest in peace.

During Ruhul Kabir Rizvi's speech, heavy rain started and the meeting was suspended for about one hour.

A few kilometers away from Chauhali upazila, thousands of leaders and activists crossed the Jumuna River with trawlers and small boats to join the commemoration.
