Bangladesh under-20 national football team will face the rival from Guam in its second match of the AFC Under-20 Asian Cup 2025 Qualifiers today (Monday) at 5:00 pm (Bangladesh standard time) in Vietnam.
Bangladesh already lost its first encounter with powerful Syria by 0-4 the middle eastern country left very little scope for the opponent to stand in its way to the much-expected win. On the other hand, the first match of the group saw Bhutan and Guam play a 1-1 stalemate.
The FIFA rankings for the senior national teams may give a hint about the strengths of the teams. Guam is not a better opponent than Bangladesh, considering the recent FIFA ranking published on 19 September. Bangladesh is ranked 186th while Guam is 204th.
Ahead of the match, Bangladesh had a swimming session to recover from the stress from the last match. The swimming session took place from 11:00 am to 11:30 am. The boys practised for a while from 5:00 pm to 6:15 pm on the day.
The Group-A round of the qualifying tournament is being held in Vietnam from 21 to 29 September. The other competitors are Bhutan, Syria, and the host Vietnam.
