The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday published a draft list of 708 people who were killed during the anti-discrimination student-people movement in July and August.

The draft list of deceased individuals, collected from various public and private hospitals as well as district levels, has been published on the websites on https://medical-info.dghs.gov.bd/.
Besides list will be available on the websites of Health Service Division (www.hsd.gov.bd) and the Directorate General of Health Services (www.dghs.gov.bd).

It also asked family members or relatives of the victims to contact the organisaitons where the deceased took medical services if any correction in the information published on the website is needed.

It is mentioned that the data will be open for public access from September 23 to October 6 for verification, correction, or completion by family members or representatives of the deceased.

The Ministry has requested opinions, suggestions, or new data regarding the published list to be communicated to the respective hospitals or nearby government hospitals.

The instructions that were given for data correction, are family members or representatives of the deceased must register using their national identity card (NID)/birth registration and mobile phone number. After registration, they should download and print the information of the deceased.

They have to fill in any missing information on the printed form. With the completed form, they should visit the relevant hospital or nearby government hospital for assistance in correcting the information.

The responsible personnel at the institution will submit the completed form online to update the information. The updated information can be re-verified on the website.

If any deceased individual from the recent protests is not listed, family members or representatives are requested to contact the relevant deputy commissioner, civil surgeon, upazila nirbahi officer, or upazila health and family planning officer with appropriate evidence.

Earlier on September 9, Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Adviser Sharmin S Murshid said the work on creating a comprehensive database of students and citizens injured or killed during the Anti-discrimination Student Movement is in its final stages.

"The database, which will detail the number of casualties and injuries, as well as the condition of the affected families, is nearly complete. It will be finalized after verification with information from the Ministry of Health and other relevant authorities. We plan to release this data next month," Adviser Shirmin said.
