Ports asked to hoist signal 3, rainfall may continue till Thursday

The maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number three as a low pressure formed over Bay.

Due to the active monsoon, it has been raining across the country since Wednesday morning and whole day rain is expected today, according to Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

In Dhaka, 26mm rain was recorded till 10:30AM.
Met office predicted rainfall may continue till Thursday (September 26) too. Heat wave may reduce 5°C.
"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country," the latest bulletin said.

Day temperature may fall by (2-5)°C and night temperature may fall by (1-2)°C over the country.

On Tuesday, the highest temperature recorded in the country was 36 degrees Celsius in Netrakona.
