Dengue claims two lives in a day

Two dengue patients died and 854 more people  were hospitalised with viral fever in 24 hours till Wednesday morning.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), with the new fatalities, the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease rose to 138 this year.
A total of 26, 555 dengue cases have been reported since January 1, 2024.


On September 22, six patients were reported to have died from dengue, which was the highest number of single-day dengue deaths.
 


Last year, 1,705 people lost their lives due to dengue, making it the deadliest year on record.
