CHATTOGRAM, Sept 25: Police have arrested three suspects for beating a man to death while on a deserted road in Chattogram.
They were arrested on Tuesday after raids in different parts of the city.
The arrestees were identified as Farhad Ahmed Chowdhury Jewel, 42, Anisur Rahman Ifat, 19 and a 16-year-old teenager.
A WhatsApp group titled 'Chattogram Chhatra Janata Traffic Group' helped to identify the perpetrators and they were caught, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Public Relations) Kazi Md Tarek Aziz said at a press briefing on Wednesday.
On Aug 14, the body of a man was found near the Badna Shah shrine. The body had serious injuries on the head, throat and other parts.
Later, family members went to Chattogram Medical College Hospital and identified the victim as Shahadat.
