Police arrested a former Swechasebak League leader from Turag on Wednesday night in connection with a case filed with Hatirjheel Police Station on August 24.

The arrestee was Md Rony, former vice-president of Turag unit Swechasebak League.

Jahangir Kabir, assistant commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), said acting on a tip-off, a team of police from Hatirjheel and Turag Police Stations conducted a drive in the area and arrested Rony on Wednesday night.

Police produced him before the court on Thursday.
