2 killed in Dinajpur road accident

Two people were killed in separate road accidents at Birampur and Parbatipur upazilas in Dinajpur district on Sunday.

In Parbatipur upazila, 70-year-old vegetable vendor Mohir Uddin was killed after being struck by a truck in the early morning in the Bhober Bazar area.

Local residents stopped the truck and handed it over to the police, said Sohel Rana, sub inspector of Parbatipur police station.

In Birampur upazila, around 12:30 am on Saturday, a 45-year-old man was hit by a truck while returning home on his bicycle after closing his grocery shop.

The deceased was identified as Nur Alam, son of late Monsur Ali from, a resident of Bijul village in the upazila.

Sub-Inspector Kamruzzaman of Birampur Police Station confirmed the accident.
