The Youth and Sports Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan said that it is unreasonable to seek for assurances of  Shakib Al Hasan's safe return to USA after playing desired final Test match at home.

Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan made the remark while answering to the questions of journalists at the Ministry of Labor and Employment on Sunday.

"Ensuring appropriate security for Shakib as a player is already in place. However, it is unreasonable to seek security assurances against the public anger against the facist government's member of parliament (MP) Shakib Al Hasan," said the sports advisor.
Shakib Al Hasan has expressed his desire to play his final Test match at home against South Africa in the upcoming series. Before that, he wants assurances that he can return to the United States to be with his family. Additionally, as a former MP of the Awami League, questions regarding his safety in Bangladesh have arisen.

After these remarks from the advisor, it seems likely that the rain-affected Test in Kanpur will be Shakib's last. His wish to play a final Test at home is unlikely to be fulfilled.

Earlier, BCB President Faruque Ahmed also told journalists that it was not possible for BCB to ensure Shakib's security, nor was it their responsibility. The matter of security lies entirely with the government.

In response to journalists' questions at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla Stadium on Sunday, BCB Director and Shakib's longtime coach, Nazmul Abedin, also commented that it is unlikely Shakib will get to play his last Test at home.

He said, "I would also want a player like him to end his career playing at home; it's a matter of tradition. However, unfortunately, at this moment, I don't see that possibility due to unavoidable reasons. The cricket board has said that the type of security Shakib is asking for is not possible for the board to provide."

He did mention that the government might think differently. Therefore, they have to wait for the government's decision, which could go either way. He added, "If the government decides that providing security for him is not possible, that would be reasonable. On the other hand, if the government says they want to honor a player like him with a proper farewell, that would also be reasonable."
