BD attends NY Int'l Trade Fair and Chamber Expo

Bangladesh has participated in the New York International Trade Fair (ITF) and Chamber Expo 2024 in the United States in a bid to show its achievement in difference sectors.

New York Chamber of Commerce and US Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce organized the event for the third time in a hotel in Manhattan on Wednesday. 
Biswajit Saha was the coordinator of the fair and it was inaugurated by its convener Ziauddin Ahmed and the president of the New York Chamber, Mark Jaffee.

A total of 18 stalls were occupied by Bangladeshi products, out of 140.

Meanwhile, five of the six seminars were conducted on the development of Bangladesh. Experts from Bangladesh, USA and Canada participated in these seminars.

The seminars on 'Unlocking Unlimited Potential in IT: Innovations and Growth Opportunities' conducted by Mohammad Mahdi-uz-Zaman and '50 Years of Bangladesh in the United Nations' - Mutual Role in Progress,conducted by Nazrul Islam-- were two of the most popular seminars.

On the other hand, the four experts participating in the 'Future of Health Insurance' conducted by the Americans, spoke on how to reduce the premium by 20 percent by preventing the violence of the insurance company in New York.

The other seminar sessions were - 'International Trade and Investment Forum with Global Business Leaders', 'Investment potential in Bangladesh: Investing in Mutual Strengths to grow together' and 'Unlocking Untapped Export-Import Opportunities Globally'.

Among the guests and speakers from Bangladesh at the fair were Macroeconomist and Public Policy Analyst Dr Debapriya Bhattacharya, Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) President Muhammad Hatem, former Bangladesh Environment Movement General Secretary and Member of the Board of Directors, Water keeper Alliance, Coordinator, Waterkeepers Bangladesh and Member Secretary, Dhoritri Rokhhay Amra (DHORA) Sharif Jamil, Daffodil Group Chairman Sabur Khan, economist Mustafizur Rahman, International Fertilizer Development Center ( IFDC) Chairman Shafiqur Rahman, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) Director Rajiv Chowdhury, Khandkar Abdullah Al Mannan, Syed Asaduzzaman of Zaman Jute and Abdul Quader of KushtiarSetu Group. Washington University of Science and Technology Vice Chancellor AbubakarHanif, Syed Zaki Hossain, Raihanul Islam Chowdhury, Abul Hossain, Ziaur Rahman, Arifur Rahman and Khalilur Rahman.
