After two and a half days of washout, Day 4 of the final Test between Bangladesh and India saw a flurry of runs and the collapse of 18 wickets. Bangladesh trailed by 26 runs by the time play was called off at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on Monday.

The day's play began at 9:45am (BST), 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled start time. Bangladesh resumed their first innings at 107 for three but suffered an early setback when Mushfiqur Rahim added only five runs to his overnight score of six.

Bangladesh continued losing wickets at regular intervals. Liton Das scored 13, Shakib Al Hasan managed nine, Mehidy Hasan Miraz contributed 20, Taijul Islam added five, Hasan Mahmud scored one and Khaled Ahmed was dismissed for a duck. The team was eventually bowled out for 233 runs in their first innings.

Mominul Haque however, stood firm amid the collapse. The left-hander remained unbeaten on 107 runs hitting 16 fours and a six. It was his 13th Test century and only his second outside Bangladesh.

Jasprit Bumrah took three wickets for India, while Akash Deep, Mohammad Siraj and Ravichandran Ashwin claimed two wickets each. Ravindra Jadeja took the remaining wicket.

In reply, India batted aggressively from the start. They raced to 51 runs in just three overs, reached 100 in 10.1 overs, 150 in 18.2 overs and 200 in 24.2 overs-all of which set new records for the fastest milestones in Test cricket history.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 23 off 11 balls, Yashasvi Jaiswal made 72 off 51 balls, Shubman Gill scored 39 off 36 balls, Rishabh Pant added nine from 11 balls, Virat Kohli hit 47 from 35 balls, Jadeja scored nine, Ashwin managed one, Lokesh Rahul blasted 68 off 43 ball, and Akash Deep contributed 12 runs as India declared their innings at 285 for nine in just 34.4 overs.

For Bangladesh, spinners Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz hauled four wickets each, while pacer Hasan Mahmud claimed the other wicket.

Bangladesh then ended Day 4 at 26 for two in their second innings after 11 overs. Opener Zakir Hasan was dismissed for 10, while 'nightwatchman' Hasan Mahmud was out for four.

Shadman Islam remained unbeaten on seven, with Mominul Haque on naught.

Ravichandran Ashwin took both wickets for India.
