Renowned Indian actor and politician Govinda, who has been injured due to a misfire in the wee hours of Tuesday, is now out of danger, according to media reports.

He was reportedly injured when his licensed gun misfired as he was cleaning it at his Juhu house in Mumbai, India. He was about to leave his house for a flight due to some prior commitments.
Govinda was immediately brought to CritiCare Hospital in Juhu for treatment and his condition is said to be improving now after the operation, UNB reports.

The actor himself shared his update via an audio message, expressing gratitude to the fans and his well-wishers for the love and prayers.

Dr Agarwal, who treated the Bollywood superstar and Shiv Sena leader after his leg injury at the Criti Care Hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday, gave a health update on the actor. Govinda's daughter, Tina Ahuja, also visited her father in the hospital, where he was admitted following the accident, reports Hindustan Times.

Govinda's nephew and renowned comedy actor Krushna Abhishek has also shared his health update on Instagram, stating: "Mama is feeling better now. Thank you all for your prayers and love. Wishing him a speedy recovery. God is kind. Pls let your prayers keep pouring in”.

Hindustan Times reports that when Dr Agarwal was asked where Govinda hurt himself, the doctor said it was two inches below the knee. It required 8-10 stitches and will be discharged from the hospital in two days, he added.

Starting out as an action and dancing hero in the 1980s, Govinda started his mainstream film career as a lead in the 1986 film 'Love 86' and to date, he has appeared in more than 165 Hindi-language films.

Considered one of the greatest and most culturally significant Indian actors of all time, the 61 years old actor garnered widespread popularity for his slapstick performances and dancing skills.
