Army chief opens 30 medical dispensaries for retired members

Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman on Tuesday inaugurated 30 more medical dispensaries in Dhaka and other districts through video teleconferencing (VTC) at the ECB Chattar in Dhaka Cantonment.

Subsequently, he exchanged views with the retired members of the armed forces, said a press release of the Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) Tuesday afternoon.  
For the welfare of the retired members of the armed forces, currently 31 medical dispensaries are being run in different districts across the country with the financial support of the army, navy, air force and army welfare organizations under the auspices of the Bangladesh Armed Forces Board (BAFB), it said. 

With the opening of 30 new medical dispensaries, about 155,264 retired armed forces personnel and their family members in 61 districts would now get medical services more easily.

Meanwhile, in the remaining three districts, the retired army personnel and their families will get the necessary medical services from the Bangladesh Army-run Main Dressing Stations (MDS), the ISPR said.

Principal Staff Officer to the Army Chief, senior officers of the Armed Forces Division, senior civil administration officers of different districts, retired members of armed forces and their families and media persons were present on the occasion.
