3 people found dead in Narayanganj, Barguna

Three people including a woman were found dead in separate incidents in two districts - Narayanganj and Barguna, on Monday.

NARAYANGANJ: Police recovered the bodies of a young man and a woman from Siddhirganj in the city on Monday night.

Of the deceased, the man was identified as Shafiqul Islam, son of Monir Hossain, a resident of Mijmiji Pashchimpara area of Siddhirganj, while the identity of the woman could not be known immediately.

Police sources said that locals spotted the bodies of the man and the woman in Ward No. 2 Dumping Doshpipe area of Siddhirganj in the city at around 9 pm and informed the matter to police.

Being informed, police recovered the bodies from the scene and sent those to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for autopsies.

The law enforcers also found a bottle of poison and a note with a request of burying the duo altogether from beside the bodies.

Police assumed that the two might be lovers and committed suicide after drinking poison.

Sub-Inspector (SI) of Siddhirganj Police Station Md Abdus Salam Mia confirmed the incident, saying that the actual reason behind their deaths would be known after getting the autopsy reports. 

However, police are investigating the matter and trying to identify the woman, the SI added. 

TALTALI, BARGUNA: The body of a fisherman, who went missing in the Bay of Bengal about 24 hours back, was recovered from Taltali Upazila of the district on Monday morning. 

The deceased was identified as Riaz, 32, son of Jalil Mridha, a resident of Thongpara area under Chhotobogi Union. The deceased's family sources said that Riaz went to an area adjacent to the Sundarban to catch fishes at dawn on Sunday. At around 11 am, he went missing in the bay. 

Later on, his floating body was found in the bay adjacent to the Sundarban at around 11 am on Monday, about 24 hours after his missing. 

Being informed by locals, relatives of the deceased recovered the body from the scene.
