A man was allegedly killed in a clash between two groups in Gazipur's Kaliganj upazila.
Kaliganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Alauddin confirmed it on Thursday (October 3) morning.
Earlier, on Wednesday (October 2) evening, the incident took place at Moktarpur Union of the upazila.
The victim's brother Shamsul Haque filed a written complaint with the police station as the plaintiff.
The victim Zahidul Islam Shyamal, 50, was a resident of Ward No-7 of that union.
According to locals, a clash took place after a dispute between two local groups over the invitation of an event. At that time, Zahidul Islam Shyamal was injured. He later succumbed to his injuries after being taken to hospital.
The OC said they received a complaint in this regard. Legal action is under process, he added.
