World Teachers Day-2024 observed in districts

The World Teachers Day-2024 was observed on Saturday across the country and the globe in a befitting manner.

This year's theme of the Day is - "Valuing teacher voices: towards a new social contract for education."

To mark the Day, different programmes were organized in districts including Joypurhat, Kishoreganj, Madaripur, Naogaon Pirojpur, Rangamati and Sirajganj.

JOYPURHAT: On this occasion, the district administration and District Education Office jointly organized different programmes in the town.

A rally was brought from Shaheed Dr Abul Kashem Field at around 10:30 am, and it ended on the premises of the District Collectorate Office after parading the main streets of the town.
 
After the rally, a discussion meeting was held in the conference of the deputy commissioner's (DC) office in the town.

Acting DC of Joypurhat Md Mohiuddin Jahangir presided over the meeting.

District Education Officer Md Ruhul Amin, Vice-Principal of Joypurhat Government College Professor Md Mizanur Rahman, Head Teacher of Ramdeo Bajla Government High School Md Emdadul Haque, Sadar Upazila Secondary Education Officer Tofazzal Hossain, Khanjanpur High School Head Teacher Md Azizul Islam, and Sadar Thana High School Acting Head Teacher Md Saiful Islam, among others, were also present in the programme at that time. 

KISHOREGANJ: To mark the Day, different programmes were organized in the district. 

A colourful rally was brought out from Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Chattar in the morning, and it ended on District Shilpakala Academy premises after parading the main streets of the town.

Later on, a discussion meeting on the significance of the Day was held in the District Shilpakala Academy auditorium in the town.

Professor Abdul Goni was present as the chief guest while Bangladesh Kindergarten Association Kishoreganj District Unit President Md Habibur Rahman presided over the function.

Advocate Shah Ashraf Uddin Dulal, Gurudayal Government College Assistant Professor ASM Saifuzzaman, Assistant Teacher of GM Yahya Bhuiyan, Harunur Rashid, Shahidul Islam Khokon, Alamin, Saiful Islam and Mahbubul Haque, among others, also spoke on the occasion.

MADARIPUR: On the occasion of the Day, different programmes were organized in the district.

A discussion meeting on the significance of the Day was held in the conference room of the DC office in the district town in the morning.

Madaripur DC Mst Yasmin Akhtar attended the meeting as the chief guest.

Additional DC (ADC) Nusrat Azmiri Haque, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Wadia Shabab, District Secondary Education Officer Md Habibullah along with students of various schools and colleges of the district, among others, also spoke at the programme.

NAOGAON: To mark the Day, the district administration and District Education Office jointly organized different programmes in the town.

A rally was brought out from the Zilla Parishad premises, which paraded the important streets and ended at the Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium in the district town in the morning.

After the rally, a discussion meeting was held in the Sadar upazila Parishad auditorium.

Naogaon DC Mohammad Abdul Awal addressed the function as the chief guest with District Education Officer Mahfuza Khatun in the chair.

Deputy Director of the District Local Government Department Sohel Rana addressed the function as the special guest.

Principal (retired) Professor Md Shariful Islam Khan, Principal of Faiz Uddin Memorial College Dr Md Ayub Ali, Principal of Gawsul Azam Kamil Madrasha, P M Adam Ali, and Head Teacher of Al Farooq Islami Academy Amirul Mominin, among others, also spoke at the discussion programme.

The speakers at the programme said that the World Teachers Day is observed every year on October 5. 

The role of a teacher holds profound importance in our lives, and they play a very important role in shaping our careers, right from our childhood, they added.

PIROJPUR: In this connection, the district administration and District Education Office jointly organized different programmes in the town.

A rally was brought out from Pirojpur Circuit House premises in the morning, and it ended on the DC office premises after parading the main streets of the town.

After the rally, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the DC office in the district town marking the significance of the Day.

Pirojpur DC Muhammad Asraful Islam Khan was present as the chief guest while ADC (Education and ICT) Md Selim Hossain presided over the meeting.

Principal of Government Suhrawary College Professor Panna Lal Roy in Pirojpur and District Education Officer Idris Ali Azizi, among others, also spoke at the programme. 

Teachers from different educational institutions also took part in the programme.  

RANGAMATI: To mark the Day, the district administration organized different programmes in the town.

A discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the DC office in the town in the morning.

Rangamati DC Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Khan presided over the meeting.

ADC (Education and ICT) Nasrin Sultana, Sadar UNO Rifat Asma, District Education Officer Mridul Kanti Talukder, General Secretary of the District Unit BNP Advocate Mamunur Rashid Mamun, and teachers from various educational institutions, among others, were also present at the programme.   

Earlier, a rally was brought out from the Happy Mor area in the morning, and it ended on the DC office premises after parading the main streets of the town.

SIRAJGANJ: Different programmes were organized in the district on the occasion of the Day.

Sirajganj Government College organized a discussion meeting in the hall room of the Teachers' Association of the college in the district town in the morning.

Principal of the college Professor Md Aminul Islam presided over the meeting.

Vice-Principal of the college Professor Md Sultan Mahmud, Professor Md Rezaul Haque, Fahima Sultana, and Professor Santu Kumar Dutta, among others, also spoke at the programme.
