Police have arrested two more Awami League (AL) and Jubo League leaders from Pallabi in the capital over killing of Emon in firing during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
The arrested are Pallabi’s ward no 2 AL general secretary Md Akbar Hossain Jonny and ward no 3 Jubo League leader Md Deen Islam.
Being tipped-off, police arrested the duo from the city's Pallabi area on Saturday night, a press release of Detective Branch (DB) of police said.
Police arrested them as their involvement in Emon murder was found through scrutiny of the video footages of the place of occurrence and its adjoining areas, it said.
The arrested were sent to the court.
Earlier on October 3, police arrested Pallabi Thana Jubo League law affairs secretary Sheikh Mohammad Wasim for his involvement in the Emon murder.
Emon Hossain Akash took part in the Quota Reform Movement in front of Popular Diagonistic Centre at Mipur 10 on August 4.
Leaders and activists of the AL and its associate bodies allegedly opened indiscriminate fire on the protesters in which Emon suffered critical bullet wounds.
Emon was rushed to local Azmal Hospital where the on duty physicians pronounced him dead.
A murder case was lodged with Pallabi Police Station on August 27.
