Twenty-four people including former director general of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Liaqut Ali Lucky and director (Admn) Jahangir Hossain Chowdhury have been sued by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The case was filed by the ACC's coordinated district office, Dhaka-1.
ACC's special department's deputy director Sumitra Sen filed the case being the plaintiff on Sunday (October 6).
Analysing the report submitted by a probe team constituted by the ACC, it has been found that Liaqut Ali Lucky and Jahangir Hossain Chowdhury in connivance with each other raised the number of the written examinations of the failed candidates of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in their answer sheets, and subsequently gave appointment to 23 candidates in 10 posts illegally.
Showing the failed candidates passed in their written examinations, they were appointed to different posts. Liaqut Ali Lucky and Jahangir Hossain Chowdhury withdrew Tk 8,029,495 crore as received from the government exchequer as their salaries and allowances.
In such a way, the persons concerned have committed crimes as per the Corruption Prevention Act.
