Dhaka International Poets Summit 2017 

A poesie-talk fiesta, beyond borders…

A poet uses language, as a painter uses colour, believes Aminur Rahman: President of Kathak, the organizer of the magical poesie gala: Dhaka International Poets Summit 2017 who has united poetic-colours beyond borders---Austria, Argentina, Germany, Spain, Puerto Rico, and welcomed poets of these world in a 3-day poetry-fiesta.   
The first-day is titled 'Poets and Painters Get-together Recital & Music' held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 5pm at Gallery Chitrak where poets from home and broad shared floors, recited poems, and connected through translations of poetry. Eminent poets like Manfred Chobot (Austria), Jona Burghardt (Argentina/Germany), Tobias Burghardt (Germany), Luz Maria Lopez (Puerto Rico), Maria de los Angeles Camacho Rivas (Puerto Rico), and Dr Victor Alexandrovich Pogadaev (Russia), and Bangladeshi poets Rahima Akhter Kalpana, Jahangir Feroze, Kamurzzaman, Reaz Ahmad, Jahidul Huq, Zahid Mustafa, Shakib Lohani, Kader Mahmud, Camellia Mustafa, Habibullah Sirajee, Hayat Saif, and Ahmed Tahsin Shams recited verses on that very poesy-evening.
The second day of this poetry carnival titled 'International Literary Conference 2017' held on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Bangla Academy, at 10am-2pm where Manfred Chobot (Austria), Jona Burghardt (Argentina/Germany), Tobias Burghardt (Germany), Luz Maria Lopez (Puerto Rico), Maria de los Angeles Camacho Rivas (Puerto Rico), and Dr Victor Alexandrovich Pogadaev (Russia) gave a brief glimpse of their own literature and poetry, chaired by Fakrul Alam. Furthermore, an open discussion session took place where Bangladeshi literary personalities like Mohammad Nurul Huda, Syed Manzoorul Islam, Kamal Chowdhury, Mohamed Mijarul Quayes, Shamim Azad, Rashid Ashkari, Aminur Rahman, Shumon Rahman shared views with the foreign poets, chaired by Kaiser Haq.
After the discussion, Chobot, Jona, Tobias, Lopez, Angeles, and  Pogadaev, along with poet Aminur Rahman went to the Ekushey Book Fair 2017 at Adorn Publication stall to sign for their newly published book Biswa Shera Shamokalin Chay Kabir Kobita (World Famous Poetry of Six Contemporary Poets), translated by Aminur Rahman.
At the grand gala of the third Dhaka International Poets Summit 2017 held on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Jatiya Chitrashala of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, poets received Kathak Literary Award.
Moreover, on Saturday, February 4, 2017 multi-virtuoso Aminur Rahman, poet, editor and translator, is going to receive Fazal Shahabuddin Memorial Award for his contribution in the literary arena along with 5 other Bengali poets Asad Chowdhury, Habibullah Sirajee, Hayat Saif, Mohammad Nurul Huda, and Jahidul Huq.   
Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism, Rashed Khan Menon was present as chief guest. Poets from home and abroad attended the summit where the launch of seven books, including Biswa Shera Shamokalin Chay Kabir Kobita (World Famous Poetry of Six Contemporary Poets), published by Adorn Publication, and 100 Poems from Bangladesh, published from Germany.
