National competition for screening out new actors is due to resume after nearly twenty-seven years. The competition will tentatively start from the first week of next month that is January, 2018, Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar, president of Bangladesh film directors' association has confirmed. The annual competition was started in 1984 by BFDC or Bangladesh Film Development Corporation. It continued for some years but since 1990 the session has been withheld. Gulzar has further pointed out that this very arrangement of BFDC brought forth film stars like Diti, Sohel Chowdhury, Misha Sawdagor, Manna and Amit Hasan. Thus it is very important for bringing out new talents in acting.
