Motorbike driver found hacked dead

The chopped body of a motorbike driver was found in Laxmiprasad Pashchim union of Kanaighat upazila on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Rubel Ahmed, 25, son of late freedom fighter Abdul Matin, and a resident of Sonatonpunji village of the union, reports UNB.

Locals found a chopped body of a youth in an area adjacent to Koruna Dighir graveyard of the union in the morning and informed police.

Sub-inspectors Rajib Mandal and Sanjit of Kanaighat Police Station recovered the body from the spot around 10 am.

Later, the victim's family members identified the body as Rubel Ahmed, said SI Rajib.

The family members said that Rubel, who used to run bike on hire, was missing since Thursday evening, after he went to Chotul Bazar from Suroighat Bazar around 7:30 pm carrying two passengers, UNB added.
