Tahmina Akter: A tale of an entrepreneur

Tahmina Akter, owner of Tami's Fashion BD, started her business in 2013.
How did you start?
When I was expecting my first baby, I got off from my job; l started looking for an independent job. Suddenly, an idea came up in my mind to start an online boutique shop. As it is online, I can easily manage quality time for my family.
Why did you choose this profession?
I always have had passion for fashion design, but I never thought to build up my career on this track.  Time and skills brought me here, anyway.
What is the specialty of your business?
The specialty of my business is my thoughts on each work, my hard work and my top priority to the customers and most importantly my honesty. One more thing, I wish to mention that I believe to maintain a truthful relationship with my customers.
What do you sell?
My main selling products are lady's apparels; I always try to maintain some new things for my design patterns in order to meet the taste of female of all ages. I used to design a dress targeting the age and trend. I also deign dress for young girls.
What challenges do you face to run the business?
The main goal of our business is customers' satisfaction. To achieve it, I have to meet some challenges like keeping commitments with the customers, meeting customers' taste, and last but not the least, maintaining the quality of the products keeping the price reasonable.
What is your inspiration?
When I just started my business few years ago, one day one of my customers called me from Australia and he motivated me in such a way that it worked for me as fuel. After that a lot of my customers kept inspiring me by different ways giving reviews on page, continuing their shopping with my online boutique shop and also sending some beautiful gifts sometimes. My family also inspires me a lot.
What is your future plan?
This is true that when I started four years ago, I did not have any focal plan, but after passing one year, I started dreaming with my business and set a focused goal for my business. I want to reach on that position with my business where thousands of people will work and they will feel proud to be a member of my business.
What would be your message to the young entrepreneur?
The word entrepreneurship doesn't come alone; rather it comes with some words that are honesty, responsibility, commitment, value, view, and so on. I just like to request all the young entrepreneurs to realize these words from the core of their hearts.
