329 women, children tortured in Rajshahi in 2017

A survey by Ladies’ Organisation for Social Welfare (LOFS), a development organisation, showed that a total 329 cases on women and children repression were filed at Rajshahi in 2017.

Among them, 176 cases were against repression on women and 151 against children repression.

According to the research, most incidents caused centring dowry demand. Extramarital relationships has spread in the society, the survey observed.

Family conflicts and love affairs are also responsible for social crimes like suicide, murder and others.

The situation faced degradation in 2017, said the report published in different newspapers.

Protest of social organizations played no practical role in solving the problem that instigated the crime more, analysed the Survey.
