New books distributed among four lakh students in Natore

NATORE, Jan 1: A total of 38,63,640 copies of new books were distributed among 4,16,205 students of primary and secondary schools in the district on the 1st day of the academic year 2018.
The books were distributed to the students free of cost. In this connection,  the school authorities organised a function on their respective school premises and distributed the books in presence of their guardians and local distinguished persons. At that time students and guardians became very happy.
According to Primary Education Office it was learnt that there are 1,610 Primary Schools at seven upazilas of the district and the number of students are 2,01,650.
Hundred percent books from class one to five were distributed to the students.  
On the other hand, the District Secondary Office said, there are 496 educational institutions including Madrasa and vocational ones in the district, and they have 2,14,555 students.
As per demand, all books were received from Dhaka before the distribution.
Kanij Fatema, head teacher of the Aunkur Kinder Garten Primary School, informed that there are 70 students in her school from one to class three. She got the new books as per their demand.
She further said, the books were distributed to the students in due time in presence of the guardians arranging a function on their school premises.
Among others, Majida Begum, president of the Managing Committee of Aunkur Kinder Garten Primary School, Syed Mosaddek Hossain, Advocate Mozammel Hossain, Syed Mosharraf Hossain, Professor Dilruba Begum, were also present.
Md. Nasim, a student of class three of Aunkur Primary School said, he is very happy to get his new books from the school. He also said he will begin study from Monday.
Sabina Begum, a guardian of a student, said she is a poor man. Her husband works at a wood shop. She has been very happy for getting new books for her daughter free of cost from the school.   
Similarly, Md. Tazul Islam, head teacher of Uttar Barogachha Govt. Primary School, informed that he got the new books as per demand of 130 students. He distributed the books at a function on his school premises in due time.
Among others, Abdur Razzak, president of the managing committee of that school, Abdul Aziz, ex-president, Shafiqul Alam, ex-ward commissioner, teachers and guardians of the school were also present there.
Abdur Razzak, president of the managing committee, said, timely book distribution among students is one of the successful programme of the present government. Students will be able to start their studies from the beginning of the education year. Thus one day they will be able to make their carrier as a good citizen of the country.
District Education Officer Ramjan Ali Akonda said, the books were distributed to the students  formally at every school in the district peacefully. No untoward incident happened in this matter, he added.
