10th RU Convocation on Mar 24

Prof Sobhan said, "We joined a function on cluster-wise admission test held at Bangabhaban in Dhaka. There President Abdul Hamid, also the Chancellor of Rajshahi University, agreed on the convocation date set March 24".

The university Chancellor Abdul Hamid will not attend this convocation. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid will preside over the convocation as president's representative. 

The convocation speaker is yet to be named, Prof Sobhan added. 

The Education Minister has recently directed the university authorities to hold the convocation on March 24, the VC also said.

Earlier, authorities of the university opened online registration process on November 3 in 2016 for the first time with a deadline of November 30 for those who earned their masters, MBBS, BDS, MPhil and PhD degrees between 2011 and 2014 under Rajshahi University. Later, the deadline was extended until January 31 this year.

A total of 6,909 graduate students have registered their names for the convocation.

Professor Ananda Kumar Saha, RU pro-vice chancellor, told the daily observer that they had already completed most of the preparations to hold the convocation successfully in due time.
