Five BNP-Jamaat men were detained from the spot in this connection.
Mujibnagar Police Station OC Monirul Islam said miscreants threw a bomb while a police van was patrolling the area around 12:30am. But the driver managed to escape with the van safely.
No one was injured in the incident.
The incident occurred when BNP-Jamaat men were holding a meeting there, the OC said.
Police, later, seized four bombs and some sticks from the scene.
