Natore: Police have arrested a fake member of National Security Intelligence (NSI) in Singra upazila.
The arrested man is identified as Jobair Hossain, 26, son of Yakub Master of Petro-Bangla Mohalla.
Quoting local people, police said a team of Tabligh Jamaat went to Jobair’s house on Tuesday morning to invite him to join with them.
At one stage, one of the members asked Jobair about his identity.
Angered by this, Jobair claimed himself as a NSI member.
Suspecting the matter, Md Samiul, a member of the team, filed a case against him with Singra Police Station.
Shamsul Islam, district NSI deputy director, confirmed that there is no NSI member in the name of Jobair.
Singra Police Station OC Monirul Islam said they arrested Jobair for giving false identity.
A case has been registered with the police station in this connection, he added.
