Rohingya held with firearm in Cox's Bazar camp

Cox's Bazar: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a Rohingya man alongwith a firearm from a refugee camp in Balukhali area under Ukhiya upazila early Thursday.

Arrested Md Abu Bakr Siddique, 35, is a resident of block D-5 of Kutupalong camp, confirmed RAB-7 Major Md Ruhul Amin.

Acting on a tip off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive in the camp and nabbed Siddique along with a SBBL gun, two 12 bore cartridges.

According to Ukhyia Police Station, a case was filed against the Siddique under Arms Act.

He was sent to jail following a court order.
