DU student killed in Cox's Bazar road crash

Cox's Bazar : A female student of Dhaka University was killed in a road accident in Himchhari on the Marine drive Road on Thursday afternoon.


Deceased Shammi Khanam Tania, 22, was the wife of Ahsanul Kabir, an assistant commissioner of Dhaka Customs.

Quoting witnesses, police said a microbus rammed into an easy bike at about 3:30pm, leaving the later's passengers Tania, her husband and driver critically injured.


They were rushed to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared Tania dead.


The microbus was seized but its driver managed to flee.


The couple came to the tourist resort district from tangail this afternoon.
