25 arms, ammunition recovered in Bandarban; 4 held

The Army and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in a joint raid, have detained four suspected terrorists and recovered 25 firearms and over 2,000 bullets from backwoods Lama upazila of Bandarban.

 

The raid was conducted in the dense forest of Fasiakhali, adjacent to Cox's Bazar border, from Thursday evening to Friday morning.

 

The detainees are Suicha Mong Marma, 34, Chhailung Mara, 35, Oikyo Marma, 40, and Mefa Marma, 41.

 

The seized arms including 14 SBBL, 11 one-shooter guns and 2,037 bullets.

 

Chittagong RAB-7 company commander Maj Ruhul Amin said the detainees were arms traders and involved in terrorist activities.

 

The detainees are being interrogated by the RAB.
