Yaba worth Tk 33.60 cr seized in Cox's Bazar

Cox's Bazar : Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), in  a drive, seized 11.20 lakh Yaba tablets worth Tk 33.60 crore from Teknaf upazila on Thursday.

Acting on a tip-off, a BGB team took position in Shwashanghat area under Sabrang union near the Bay in the morning.

When a trawler anchored in the shore, the BGB team challenged its three passengers.

Sensing the situation difficult, they ran away leaving behind dive sacks full of Yaba tablets, said Teknaf’s BGB Battalion-2 Commander Lt Col Ariful Islam.

He said the seized contraband tablets were deposited to the BGB 2 Battalion and to be destroyed later.
