Yaba pills worth Tk 16 cr seized at Saint Martin's Island

Some 3.20 lakh pieces of yaba tablets worth around Tk 16 core has been recovered from a fishing boat in Saint Martin Island's East beach area in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar district.

On information, a patrol team of Bangladesh Coast Guard East Zone conducted a drive in the area around 11:00pm on Thursday, and recovered the yaba pills left abandoned by smugglers.

Chittagong Zone Public Relations Officer (PRO)  of the force Lt Commander B N M Lokman Hakim confirmed the matter.

They could not detain any smugglers during the drive, the official added.
